Weekend fun and a little trouble

So I had a date this weekend well actually two dates with the same guy. I think I really like this guy and I maybe in trouble. Friday night we cooked at my house, watched some cheesy B-rated horror movies and talked until 2 in the morning. Saturday we went to Old Town Sacramento, dinner and then hung out at his house. I know sounds kind of boring but that's okay because I am a home body. He really is a great guy, he has most of the qualities I have been looking for in another person or relationship. He is easy to talk to and best of all does not judge and is really caring. I very well could be in trouble but in a good way.

If this progresses I'm in trouble!

This could be famous last words...Last night I had a date with Dan, maybe it was more of a hang out session. See he drove up here after work, was a little tired so we decided to stay at my house and watch a movie. It was nice to be comfortable enough for him to hang out here. Well during our 7 hour date he made the statemen, "if this progresses, I'm in trouble!" When I asked him what he meant he just said that if my heart was involved I would probably do anything for you. Interesting right, this coming from a guy who has a date today....ugh. I'm really trying not to read too much into the things he says, prevents misunderstandings and hurt. He told me that he was going to Reno Sunday through Tuesday and wanted me to go. What confused, oh yes. I told him it would be really weird because he is going with his family and because he has a date today, ugh again. This guy confuses me, I'm really trying not to put any stress on the situation but goodness I'm confused.

But I do think I like him......goodness

Dan

Okay, so this new guy is pretty great, he possesses all the qualities I want in a relationship. We have been out a few times, talk and send emails/text continually, I guess things are progressing. At least I thought things were progressing until he informed me that he was going out on a date Saturday, interesting. He proceeded to tell me that he was just trying to be honest and he did not want to play games with my heart. Okay but why tell me you really like me but have a date, eek. So now I'm just a little torn, I do like this guy but don't want to compete with someone else for a guys attention. I don't play games and wont let someone play with my heart. So what do I do, I can't just sit around until he decides that I'm a better choice! Or can I?

See this is why dating sucks, maybe an arrainged marriage would have been better!

New Guy

I went on a date today, yes a Sunday morning breakfast date. It's weird to meet someone for breakfast, I guess it's better no pressure and not any preconceived ideas. Well I met him for breakfast at a local place (Sweet Peas), great food and friendly environment....see less pressure already. Well the stress of a first date was compounded when my mom and brother showed up...yup they had the idea of going to breakfast at the same place I was already at. Enter pressure and a little stress. Anyway date went well, we have a lot in common and he has a great head on his shoulders, these are all qualities I am looking for in a partner. I guess we will just have to see where it goes, no pressure and not going to rush things, only time will tell.

Dating....Why is it so hard?

I would like to understand why I have had such a bad or horrible streak in dating....I have literally tried everything. And I really mean everything blind dates, online dating, set-ups, you name it I have tried it and still no man. My friend Julie says I am way too picky and I need to lower my standards so. My phlosophy is "why have standards then?" am I right? I guess I do have so serious standards, I guess I have been hurt a few too many times, starting at a very young age. Again Julie in her wise drunk state aways tells me "I wont ever be happy because I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop." She is true on part of that, but she is doing the same thing. So she is really just the pot calling the kettle black. I just want to be happy, I need to find a guy that just gets me, who will put up with my strange moods because I would be more then willing to do the same. I have stories that would make most people laugh and some cry, a few would probably doubt that those things could ever happen to one person. I've dated guys with no manners, and that bearly lasted the date. I dated a married guy...no I did not know he was married until his wife called the day before my birthday. I was engaged once and caught him cheating. I broke up with a guy only to have KARMA smack me in the face 4 years later. I went out on a date with a guy who had 5 DUI's and wondered why I had a problem with it. I dated guys in the Air Force, National Guards and the Army, thought I would work my way around the armed forces. I dated a guy who thought he could control me...like that could happen! I dated a guy who played the piano over the phone until I fell asleep each night but religion got in the way...boy was he hot. I cant forget my best friend who I loved with all my heart but we never seemed to figure the timing out. What standards, do I really have any? Maybe sometime I will share these stories they are all so funny and so very sweet.
