3000 and maybe a bullet!

Yup, 3000 dollars worth of damage done to my beloved car! Who would have guessed that a gas tank, gas tank skid plate and fuel pump could cost that much. While the car guy was telling me about the damage he filled me in on some important info. He told me that there was a small hole in the skid plate and gas tank something so small that it appeared to be caused by a bullet. What now you're telling me my car was shot at, great! Anyway we wont be able to tell what caused the hole until the parts get pulled out but for now we wait. We wait on the insurance to decide if they want pictures, we wait for car to be torn apart, we wait for the parts and then we wait for them to put my beloved car back together again. Oh one more wait, we wait to make a police report, that is if it was a bullet that caused the damage. Lovely!!!

Weekend fun and a little trouble

So I had a date this weekend well actually two dates with the same guy. I think I really like this guy and I maybe in trouble. Friday night we cooked at my house, watched some cheesy B-rated horror movies and talked until 2 in the morning. Saturday we went to Old Town Sacramento, dinner and then hung out at his house. I know sounds kind of boring but that's okay because I am a home body. He really is a great guy, he has most of the qualities I have been looking for in another person or relationship. He is easy to talk to and best of all does not judge and is really caring. I very well could be in trouble but in a good way.

Rental car from hell and other crazy firsts

So yesterday my beloved car wanted to explode...yes it did but sure glad it didn't! I had the pleasure of renting my first rental car actually more like two different rental cars, but who is counting. Yes, I have never had to rent a car because I had problems with mine. There is always a first with me. I have also never had the pleasure of reporting a claim to my insurance company. I have nothing bad to say about my insurance company they made things relatively painless and I had a good laugh. I will never complain the next time I have to pay a AAA bill, count my words never! Not a first however was having to tell the lady on the other end of the phone that I am indeed old enough to rent a car. She was under the impression that I was in my late teens or early twenties, wow do I sound that young. It's not like she didn't have all my important information right in front of her in black and white. Well they turned my car trouble into no-fault trouble and sent me to rent a car from their company. What, I have to turn in a perfectly good be it ugliest blue Camry for whatever this other company could/would give me. Well I ended up with yet another problem car, it smells bad on the inside and out plus the cigarette light does not work. How do people charge phones in cars that don't have working cigarette lighters? This company WILL be taking this car back and giving me something else, I refuse to drive a stinky car that has broken features. Plus who wants to drive a car when you have been driving an SUV for years?! Come on, I have to sit that low in a car, have lights always in my eyes and feel like at any point someone is going to plow right into the thing. I did remember what it is like to drive a car that hugs the road, that goes faster (only a little) and can be whipped in and out of tight spaces. Oh well the negatives outweigh the positive and that's the reason I will never have a small car again...dangerous.

Who knew gas tanks were plastic?

So on my way home today from the YRC I had a major car malfunction...the gas tank exploded. It was not a blow up the car kind of explosion just a shake the car have to pull over kind. So here I was just coming in Auburn and I hear this horrible noise and the car starts to shake and then slow down. Yes, lucky me! Anyway I pull over by the grace of god no one was behind or beside me at that point and I was safely able to get over to the shoulder of the freeway. Of course this had to happen on one of the busiest stretches of highway, again see how lucky I am! So I pull over and get out of the car, not something I would recommend but I needed to see what happened. I figure it was gas leaking out of my car by the smell and decide it would be best to turn the car off, move away from it and call AAA. As I was trying to explain stuff to AAA my mother came driving up the same stretch of highway, she never leaves work early but again by the grace of god she did and came to my rescue. While on the phone with AAA they decided that I have a major issue and called highway patrol (remember I'm on a really bad area of the freeway) and the local fire department plus made me a priority pick up. If I knew having my gas tank want to explode would get this much attention, I would have had it happen along time ago. So the hot fire fighters show up and clear my car for tow. Yes I gawked they were in uniform and for the most part pretty hot. The tow truck shows up and I had 10 minutes to get my car to the shop before they close along with every rental car company in Auburn. Needless to say the car was dropped off at the shop and I got a rental car.....day was just not going to get any better. While talking to the dealer about my strange gas tank, he stated that "gas tanks are plastic now didn't you know!" Yeah guy I knew that couldn't you tell my dumb expression on my face!!!!!

If this progresses I'm in trouble!

This could be famous last words...Last night I had a date with Dan, maybe it was more of a hang out session. See he drove up here after work, was a little tired so we decided to stay at my house and watch a movie. It was nice to be comfortable enough for him to hang out here. Well during our 7 hour date he made the statemen, "if this progresses, I'm in trouble!" When I asked him what he meant he just said that if my heart was involved I would probably do anything for you. Interesting right, this coming from a guy who has a date today....ugh. I'm really trying not to read too much into the things he says, prevents misunderstandings and hurt. He told me that he was going to Reno Sunday through Tuesday and wanted me to go. What confused, oh yes. I told him it would be really weird because he is going with his family and because he has a date today, ugh again. This guy confuses me, I'm really trying not to put any stress on the situation but goodness I'm confused.

But I do think I like him......goodness

Dan

Okay, so this new guy is pretty great, he possesses all the qualities I want in a relationship. We have been out a few times, talk and send emails/text continually, I guess things are progressing. At least I thought things were progressing until he informed me that he was going out on a date Saturday, interesting. He proceeded to tell me that he was just trying to be honest and he did not want to play games with my heart. Okay but why tell me you really like me but have a date, eek. So now I'm just a little torn, I do like this guy but don't want to compete with someone else for a guys attention. I don't play games and wont let someone play with my heart. So what do I do, I can't just sit around until he decides that I'm a better choice! Or can I?

See this is why dating sucks, maybe an arrainged marriage would have been better!

Hero laid to rest

Home of the free because of the brave. God bless Joshua and his family.

**Only in a small town would you find people lining the streets, head bowed with American flags to welcome a local hero who was taken away too soon. A hero who gave all and will be greatly missed.

New Guy

I went on a date today, yes a Sunday morning breakfast date. It's weird to meet someone for breakfast, I guess it's better no pressure and not any preconceived ideas. Well I met him for breakfast at a local place (Sweet Peas), great food and friendly environment....see less pressure already. Well the stress of a first date was compounded when my mom and brother showed up...yup they had the idea of going to breakfast at the same place I was already at. Enter pressure and a little stress. Anyway date went well, we have a lot in common and he has a great head on his shoulders, these are all qualities I am looking for in a partner. I guess we will just have to see where it goes, no pressure and not going to rush things, only time will tell.
